Heitinga the Hammer
Johnny Heitinga looks to be on his way out of Everton finally with a move to West Ham looking likely. The Dutchman has been a bit part player at the toffee’s since winning the player of the season award and now looks likely to move to the capital.
“I am flattered with the interest of West Ham,” Heitinga told Voetbal International.
“Since this week the market is open and it’s clear that I have to made an important decision.”
Heitinga admits he needs to be playing to try and and keep his place in Holland’s World Cup squad and a move to West Ham could be a decent move for the lad.
“The chance of play minutes is the most important,”
“I want to be at the World Cup and to realise that I have to play. Only then I can make it difficult to Louis van Gaal.”
Heitinga could be joined in London by his striking team mate Nikica Jelavic. The Croatian has been disappointing in the last few seasons at Goodison Park with off-field rumours suggesting that a lack of improved terms have contributed to on field form. West Ham have been in advanced talks with a striker and it is thought that Jelavic could be the man.
