Tony Hibbert hopes the Roberto Martinez era will signal a new positive chapter in his own career.
Hibbert was a frustrated onlooker during the second part of last season after being hit by a calf injury which required surgery.
But he is back at full fitness now and immersing himself in Martinez’s pre-season regime, which continued with a 4-1 win over Accrington on Wednesday, in which Hibbert played the first 45 minutes.
“It’s still early days with our fitness and getting touches of the ball but it was a good performance,” Hibbert told evertontv.
“I am enjoying this pre-season. It’s new and a bit different, it is a new challenge because I only knew David Moyes’ pre-seasons.
“The manager has introduced the ball earlier – everything we do is football related. It’s more game related and it’s good.
“Last season I had my injuries, I came back towards the end (of the 2012/13 season) and this is now a chance for me to try and play as much as I can and keep injury free. Hopefully the injuries are behind me.”
Seems the lads are realising just how poor DITHERING was!!
