    Inter to rival Everton for Fernando in January

    Inter are to rival Everton for Brazilian midfielders Fernando in the January transfer market according to Gazetta Dello Sport.

    Everton pulled out of a deal for the Porto man nicknamed the Octopus at the start of September due to financial reasons, but Everton boss Roberto Martinez is keen to sign the player who will only have 6 months left on his contract in January.

    Martinez travelled down to London to sort a work permit for the player, but Porto wouldn’t drop their £15m asking price, despite the player only having less than 1 year left on his contract.

    It is now believed that Fernando is high on the list for Inter Milan and they will try and sign him on a pre-contract agreement in January.
