Jagielka: It’s not nice when you feel things pop in your knee
Everton skipper Phil Jagielka is delighted to be back in contention for a playing place and says that he feared the worst when he heard a pop in his knee.
Jagielka has previously been out after rupturing his cruciate, but thankfully the injury wasn’t as bad as he first feared.
“It’s pretty much a game every three days for the remainder of the month, so it’s nice to be back in the mix,”
“It’s not nice when you feel things pop in your knee. It was the knee I had an operation on before so it wasn’t nice but thankfully the diagnosis wasn’t too bad. It could have been a lot worse.
“I’ve had to make sure the knee has felt right. The physios and fitness coaches have taken me for runs and the other stuff you don’t like to do.
“It’s been a bit frustrating having to work on my own but the last week or so I’ve managed to get a bit of training in with the boys. The sessions have been hard but enjoyable.”
Will Phil Jagielka force his way back into the first team?
