Jagielka: Kones injury was serious and it’s taken him a while to recover
Everton skipper Phil Jagielka has praised super sub Arouna Kone for helping his Everton side back into the game against Watford in the opening Premier League game of the season with a cameo appearance.
Kone scored one and assisted one after coming off the bench and Jags said that the quality is there, but it has taken a little longer to recover than expected.
“It has been a tough period for him,” Jagielka said.
“We all know he has quality, but the injury he had was a very serious one and it has taken him a while to recover.
“He has not had too much game time over the course of his Everton career.
“Obviously the main positive is him coming out of the game.
“He has a nice little set up for Ross’ goal and a fantastic finish for the equaliser.”
Can Kone ever regain full fitness?
