Kenny: I want to impress the new manager and get into the first team squad
Everton youngster Jonjoe Kenny is hoping that he can do enough to impress new blues manager Ronald Koeman as he looks to build on last season.
The 19 year old fullback spent much of last season on loan at Oxford, but made his Everton first team debut in the final match of last season in the 3-0 demolition of Norwich City and now wants to impress his new gaffer over the summer.
“Making my debut was a dream come true,” he reflected. “I have been at Everton for just under 10 years and that was what I have been striving towards since I arrived.
“To make my debut in front of all the fans at Goodison – I couldn’t have asked for more.
“I’ll hopefully go away with England Under-19s for the European Championships [in July] and enjoy a bit of time off but I am looking forward to coming back in for pre-season.
“It is a clean slate for everyone. We have to go in and impress the new manager and try to get into the first-team squad.”
Which youngsters will be given a chance under Koeman?
