    Koeman to return to Southampton with bid for defender?

    Everton manager Ronald Koeman could be set to make a move for his former defender Jose Fonte with a bid of £9m for the Portugal centre-back according to the Daily Record.

    The 32 year old is fresh off the back of helping Portugal lift the winners trophy at Euro 2016 and Koeman is known to be a big admirer of the lanky defender.

    Fonte is also being linked with a move to Manchester United as Jose Mourinho looks to strengthen his back-line, but Koeman looks to have made the first move.

    Fonte signed a new three year contract in October on the proviso that the club would not stand in his way if he received a superior offer from elsewhere.
