    Lukaku: I’m among the best

    Everton striker Romelu Lukaku has declared himself ”among the best” and says he was happy with his performances in the 15/16 season and that they were expected.

    Lukaku gave the interview to World Soccer Magazine and also gave time to say that how badly the team did last season has been the main topic in the changing room.

    “I’m among the best. That’s good.

    “Personally I am happy. I did expect to produce a season of this calibre.”

    Asked whether the Belgium V Republic of Ireland match had been discussed Lukaku declared:

    “A lot. They are happy to be going to France and warn me that they are going to make life difficult for us. I jokily reply that we won’t be easy meat.

    “It comes up a lot in the dressing room. Even though our focus is on the Premier League, it’s not been great for Everton and that’s the main topic of conversation.”
