Martinez doesn’t blame Eric Dier for Cleverley injury
Everton manager Roberto Martinez says that he doesn’t blame Tottenham Hotspur player Eric Dier for the injury to Tom Cleverley and says that it was just unfortunate.
The former Everton loanee went in strong on Cleverley and the Everton midfielder for his leg caught in the big Spurs players challenge causing ligament injury but Martinez feels it was a fair challenge.
“It was an unfortunate action, when Eric Dier went with all the power and the strength of the world,” said the Catalan.
“He gets the ball and it’s unfortunate that he gets Tom’s leg, it wasn’t malicious, it was a nothing challenge. It was very fair.
“We don’t know [how long] yet, he’ll be out for a period, but Tom is so fit, any other player would have broken his leg there.
“So maybe with a little bit shorter period he’ll be back on the pitch.”
Do you agree with Martinez that the challenge was fair?

Eric Dier was dirty the entire game, he also went after Ross a few times. The tackle on Cleverley was naughty and he needs some stick for it!
