Martinez: We have found out the answer to McCarthys hamstring problems
Roberto Martinez is confident that his medical team have got to the bottom of star midfielder James McCarthy’s hamstring problems.
The Everton manager has been missing the energetic midfielder for much of the festive period due to a niggling injury, but now feels that his team have found the root cause and he hopes that it will sort it.
Martinez said: ‘James is developing well. We need to make sure when he comes back he is 100 per cent ready for the second half of the season. It is making sure over the next three or four weeks we get everyone fit and ready.
‘We have got to the bottom of it and it will help him for the rest of his career, we have looked at his nutrition and how he recovers. He is a very peculiar profile of a midfielder as he is more of a sprinter, usually with midfielders it is about stamina.
‘But James is a sprinter and those players need extra care. I think we have got to the bottom of it and now we have to make sure we manage it. I am sure when he will be back, he will be back for good.
‘We try to prefer from game to game. We need to use players in specific ways and I thought against West Ham we used him well. He looked back to his best. There was nothing we did differently. We need to remember we are in a position where every player can have a real impact.’

Leave Cleverly & Maloney well alone, not good enough fo Everton! Do get Marshall in excellent keeper! Great replacement for Tim.
He didn’t play against West Ham?
