Martinez: We need to keep playing good football and points will come
Everton manager Roberto Martinez has urged his team to focus on future games and says that if they keep playing well then the points will come.
Everton again played well against Spurs during a 1-0 defeat, but a lack of cutting edge meant that their hard work wasn’t rewarded, but Martinez fully believes that his team will look to put in a great performance and take 3 points against Crystal Palace this week.
He told evertontv: “It is important we focus now on Crystal Palace and we will try to get rid of the frustration in that performance.
“There are many games left and there will be many twists and turns. What we can’t do is get too disappointed by the scoreline.
“Obviously we want to win games but our performance merited a good scoreline. When you do that it is a matter of keeping playing good football and the points will come.”
The Spaniard is also pleased to have a number of first team players back in the squad following injury.
Martinez added: “It is important to see Seamus Coleman back, to see Gerard back, to have Aiden McGeady getting more minutes and to have Lacina Traore travelling with the team.
“Now it is a matter of getting everyone back and making sure we have a good competition for places which can give us that extra spark in front of goal.”
