The Moshiri effect produces stunning Usmanov deal for Finch Farm
Everton have agreed a deal with Arsenal shareholder Alisher Usmanov’s holding company USM Holdings for the naming rights to their training ground Finch Farm.
The deal has been arranged by Farhad Moshiri and signals the start of a new Era for Everton in the commercial world with the introduction of £75m of new commercial deals.
The deal starts this month and will also see USM Holdings benefit from a set of global marketing rights including presence on media interview backdrops and LED advertising at Goodison Park on matchdays.
“We’ve done considerable research into what this partnership can deliver for us and we’re very excited about the difference this will make as we continue to build our brands.”
Everton chief executive Robert Elstone said: “We’ve invested heavily into our training facilities over recent years and this deal means we can continue to provide top-class facilities, which we know plays an important role in attracting the best playing talent, from academy right through to the first team.”

Gawd elp us if Elstones got anything to do with it.
Nonsense! This is fantastic news and marks the start of “Chapter 2” in Everton’s renassance.
Usmanov is clearly frustrated with the dirty politics at Arsenal, which has dragged on for years now and saw the exit of David Dein. He wants to own the club outright but Stan Kroenke won’t budge. Good luck to him.
This is a moment we’ve been waiting years for and is the clearest indication yet of Usmanov’s intentions going forward. We wondered whether Moshiri was a stalking horse for the prime mover and this would suggest that this might be the case and they have chosen Everton as the special club to invest in with new money for players, a new ground in the offing and the re-build of the squad.
This really is an exciting time to be Blue and we avoided the Yanks moving in to fleece us a la Man United.
Happy New Year indeed.
