Everton boss David Moyes has recently been on a scouting trip to watch Marco van Ginkel, a highly rated young midfielder. The Toffees gaffer and his scouting team went to watch van Ginkel, 20, impress in his side’s 2-1 win over PEC Zwolle on Sunday.
Moyes has made no attempts to hide his desire for a new midfielder, with a move for Vadis Odjidja-Ofoe on deadline day of August falling through, and the same happening with Leroy Fer after a knee problem was found in a medical in January.
Van Ginkel has played for Vitesse Arnhem 84 times and has scored 16 goals. The Dutch club are asking for 8 million pounds, a deal similar to what Everton were willing to pay for Leroy Fer. Benfica and Norwich are also interested.
