Moyes to bid £15m for Seamus Coleman?
Manchester United manager David Moyes is set to launch a £15m bid for Everton right-back Seamus Coleman according to Tom Hopkinson in the Sunday People.
According to the rag, Moyes will return to bid for the player he initially bought for £67,000 from Sligo Rovers. Whether the story is true is another thing.
Moyes was continually linked with Leighton Baines all last summer, but the Everton board to their credit held firm and Baines is on the verge of signing a new contract, but now the story says that Moyes will make a move for Coleman to help strengthen Manchester United’s leaky defence.
Arsenal are also interested in “Goalman” but Everton will want to hold onto their player of the season so far and new contract negotiations are already planned.

He wont be going anywhere for £15m
If Moyes were still the Everton boss Coleman would be worth around £5m. Before Pochettino took over at Southampton players like Lallana, Rodriguez and Ward-Prowse would be worth no more than £3-4m each. My point here is that, when a new manager comes in who has a formula that would work at whatever club they managed, players will express themselves better and then become £10-15m players. They are the same players as before but their skills and abilities are allowed to be expressed. Right now, every Everton and Southampton player look like they could score a goal whereas before Martinez came in to the club, Moyes was constantly bemoaning the lack of a big centre forward without realising that he already had 11 attackers on the pitch but his style and formula of football suppressed that.
The quicker this transfer window farrago is consigned to history the better.Apologies to Jim White whose career probably depends on it.
