Naismith: We believe we can win every game
Everton striker Steven Naismith believes that his side can win every game that they go into and says that confidence is high going into Sundays match with Manchester City.
The Scottish striker says that he believes that his side can spot weaknesses in opposition sides and are looking to play a lot more direct against the right opposition
“We are going into each game believing we can win. Maybe our confidence took a wee knock last season with the amount of games and how thick and fast they were coming.
“It’s a good opportunity to show where we are at, and we are a confident team that can pass the ball and see the weaknesses in other teams.”
He continued: “It maybe looked very simple from the stands and on TV but a lot of work went in to the build up to that game [Southampton] and it was executed perfectly.
“We want to get back to the way we were in the first season when we were not thinking too much about which pass to play and where to play. It was more of play what you see and play with freedom. In the Southampton game we definitely showed that.
We’ve worked a bit more in training on not playing a hopeless ball forward or a 50-50, it’s about if there’s a long pass on or a long pass into space that will create a chance then it is worth taking.”
