QPR and West Ham to battle for £5m Jelavic
QPR are looking to battle West Ham to the signing of Evertons Croatian striker Nikica Jelavic for an initial £3.5m plus add-ons which would take the price to around £5m according to various British newspaper reports including the Guardian.
Everton face QPR today in the FA Cup and QPR gaffer Harry Redknapp hope to steal a march on West Ham and sign the striker to boost QPR’s hopes of coming straight back to the Premier League.
Hamburg are another club who are interested in the player, so much will come down to the negotiating table.
Everton will look to replace Jelavic with a forward who can adapt straight away to the Premier League and Roberto Martinez said: “We are clear in what we need. It’s someone who can fit in straight away with the physicality of the Premier League and can adapt quickly.”
