Redknapp: Everton could beat Arsenal to Remy signing
Queens Park Rangers manager Harry Redknapp has claimed that he doesn’t know if Arsenal are in for their star striker Loic Remy despite reports, but that he has been told that Everton are interested according to a report in the Daily Star.
When quizzed about the reported bid (and buy-out clause) from Arsenal for the striker who is on loan at Newcastle United, the QPR gaffer said: “I don’t know the answer to that to be honest.
“I think he must have a buyout clause. I would imagine he has a buyout clause but I don’t know how much.”
“Someone said Everton were in for in for him too.
“But I don’t even know what the deal is or what his buyout clause is.
“I would think it’ll be difficult to keep him but I don’t know.
“Tony [Fernandes, QPR chairman] speaks to him. He’s got a good relationship with him.
“He’s a good player – we’d love to have him back.
“I thought he would score goals in the Premier so it’s not surprised me that he has.
“Newcastle have struggled but if he went to a team that created more and won more, I’m sure he would have scored 20 goals this year.”
