Shane Duffy has joined Yeovil Town on a month’s loan.
The Republic of Ireland Under-21 international’s move to the Championship club has been completed in time for him to make his debut for The Glovers in Saturday’s trip to Bolton.
Duffy has seen his place in the squad taken by the emergence of John Stones and also the form of Sylvain Distin and Phil Jagielka, so a loan move would be seen as a decent option by Duffy.
The 21-year-old central defender from Derry, who has enjoyed previous loan spells at Burnley and Scunthorpe United, will join up with Gary Johnson’s Championship newcomers on an initial one month loan.
However, the Blues have also negotiated an option to extend the loan if the switch proves beneficial for both the player and Yeovil.
