Silva saw no reason for Everton to venture to warmer climes
Everton manager Marco Silva saw no reason for his Everton team to head abroad for a training camp, despite having a decent break over the last few weeks for his team to recharge their batteries.
Often when teams have an extended break, Premier League teams will head off to the sun to training camps, but Silva felt that Everton had everything they needed at home at Finch Farm.
Silva said: “It was my decision,”
“For me a training camp means that we go with a clear mind to work, to keep us together with more time to do something.
“But, I have all the conditions to do that here at Finch Farm. I didn’t have any reason for us to go anywhere.
“I gave the players three days to rest after the last match and after that we’ve worked here at Finch Farm over the course of the break, in the same way we could do in any training camp.”
Silva added: “After the last match we gave them some days to rest, sometimes not just the body but the mind as well.
Did Marco make the right decision in keeping the players in the UK or could they have done with a change of scenery to recharge?
