Walsh explains Bolasie importance
Everton director of football Steve Walsh has explained the importance of Yannick Bolasie to Everton and explains that the strong Congalese international isn’t just about tricks.
Walsh explains that Bolasie is vital for his defenders too and explained that his main objective is to get the ball up the other end of the pitch quickly and transition from defence to attack.
“He’s done very well.
“The quality of his crossing so far has been immense. Especially at Goodison.
“The good thing about Yannick is he gets you up the pitch. Whatever you ask of him he uses his strength, his power and his pace and gets you up the field.
“That helps our back four to shift up and then we can play from there.”

I don’t know if Walsh is away looking for talent but as a season ticket holder I don’t think Bolase is much of a improvement on Gerry he started well with some good crosses but fluffs his chances in front of goal and in the palace game was a lazy so and so offering no respite for our defence. But hey ho what do I know Koeman thought it was a good performance only been watching them over 60 years maybe my standards are higher than theirs.
