Juan Carlos has dismissed reports that he could head to Everton in the summer and is instead focused on seeing out his loan spell at Real Betis by helping them qualify for Europe.
The 23-year-old winger has been linked with a move to Goodison Park from his parent club Sporting Braga in Portugal after impressing with los Verdiblancos this term.
“I have no idea about the Everton thing. I did read the other day about interest from some other teams, but I do not know,” the Spaniard, whose full name is Juan Carlos Perez Lopez, told reporters.
“Nobody has said anything to me. Now I am just focused on Betis and I would like to stay.
“On the subject of my future, that is something I keep away from. I prefer to focus myself on playing.
“When the season is over, then we can look at all this.”
Juan Carlos rose through the ranks at Real Madrid, but after just one first-team appearance was sold to Braga in 2011 and then immediately loaned to Real Zaragoza.
This season he has impressed during a second loan spell, this time at Betis, and the Spanish side are keen to keep him but have been told he is wanted back in Portugal for next term.
