Youngster misses out on Everton trial after impressing
Partick Thistle youngster Jack Hendry has missed out on a trial at Everton……. After impressing after coming on as a sub for Thistle last week and he has now been called into the first team.
Hendry came on following Frederick Frans sending off against Hamilton last weekend and impressed and his performance has put him in boss Alan Archibalds squad for Celtic.
Archibald said: “There’s a wee bit of interest from Everton and it was from before he came on the scene on Saturday.
“Jack was supposed to go down for a few days but couldn’t because he’s now part of our plans.
He’s been in with us all week, leading up to this game. He ticks a lot of boxes. He’s good on the ball and he has good recovery pace. He has the stature at 6ft-plus and has still to fill out a little bit.
“He’s not going down at the moment but I don’t want to stand in his way. We only signed him last year after he’d been released by Peterborough so it wasn’t fair to say he couldn’t go down.
“That was the plan but for the moment there has been no more contact.”
